Electrical Design Drafter

Clarke Energy are now seeking an experienced Electrical Draftsperson to work on major power generation EPC projects. Full time, permanent position.

Clarke Energy are the Authorised Distributor for INNIO Jenbacher gas and KOHLER diesel reciprocating engine products offering efficient, reliable and cost effective gas and diesel solutions to their very large long term client base. They offer supply only of generation packages along with complete turn-key (EPC) solutions and full aftermarket life of service and maintenance.

Due to continued growth across the region, Clarke Energy now enter a very exciting, long term period of business growth which provides new opportunities across both their EPC and their Operations & Maintenance business units. We now seek to employ two (2) Electrical Design Drafters on a permanent, full time basis.

Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, you will work effectively to prepare designs, details drawings and design output documents from specifications, concepts, technical briefs, sketches and or on-site inspections. The role includes transmitting and receiving information from internal & external customers and vendors and providing electrical document support to the team.

Key elements of the role:

  • Tender input and preparation
  • Preparation of design plans, drawings, layouts, material lists, job files
  • Preparation of detailed engineering drawings for electrical systems including single lines, control schematics, cable schedules, block diagrams
  • Client, supplier and contractor liaison
  • Electrical design support during construction
  • Drawing register maintenance
  • Progress reporting as required

The suitable candidate will possess the following:

  • A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or other relevant qualification as a minimum
  • Experience with electrical design in heavy industry covering all LV - HV electrical, controls and instrumentation
  • EPC experience is ideal
  • Proven proficiency with E-Plan or AutoCAD Electrical software essential
  • A working knowledge of Australian standards
  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • A consultative approach with excellent written and communication skills
  • Have the ability to build relationships and rapport with all levels of staff and clients
  • Strong PC and computing skills (MS Office)
  • Clean C Class Licence
  • White Card
