Business Development Manager

Exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a growing Electrical Infrastructure Group

We are currently seeking applications for Business Development Managers for a growing South Australian business that operates within the Electrical Infrastructure sector. Working for an Adelaide based business this role will operate remotely with bi-monthly visits to Head Office.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will aim to create a long-term, trusting relationship with existing and new customers. The role will focus on developing relationships across the Energy, Utilities and Oil and gas markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, working with clients to develop tailored solution offerings and providing end to end client support throughout the entire sales process.

The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and executes the business development and sales plan
  • Establish, maintain and grow a pipeline of business
  • Responsible for sales and assigned marketing activities
  • Achieve agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Develop business proposals to encourage employers to hire and assist with tenders
  • Work towards positioning the company favorably with major infrastructure projects
  • Develop charge-out rates for client proposals as agreed with the General Manager
  • Work with industry associations and other key stakeholders to build strategic partnerships to grow the company and build awareness
  • Provide weekly reporting on agreed objects and revenue targets to the General Manager
  • Complete monthly Business Development reports being submitted to the General Manager and board
  • Attend board meetings as required - 1 to 2 trips per month to Adelaide
  • Assist in the development of separate case studies to help promote the company across the full scope of opportunities (e.g. subcontract work, crews, labour hire)
  • Attend network events
  • Business Development will also be through networking events to cold calling - this includes but not limited to contacting a designated number of new businesses/employers per month as agreed with the General Manager to ensure a pipeline of opportunities is maintained. This KPI will be monitored on a weekly and monthly basis.

Qualifications, experience, and skills

  • Demonstrable service-oriented approach, enthusiastic, motivated, positive attitude, ethical, good initiative and a self-starter
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets
  • Sales and business development experience
  • Must have and maintain a current relevant Driver's Licence
  • Ability to deal with clients at all levels and translate client needs into a complete solution
  • Sound negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong business acumen and business reporting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to see tasks through to conclusion
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required by the position at all times
  • Effective organisational, administration and time management skills
