Sector and Practice Development Coordinator - North QLD

A rewarding opportunity has just opened up working for a highly regarded Not-For-Profit organisation that operates in the Community sector. The organisation has just begun to roll out a program tailored towards educating individuals with respect to extremely complex support needs. There is opportunity for the right candidate to be based in Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton or Cairns. This role will be responsible for the delivery of community development and sector practice development. This will be achieved through using tools to educate and inform the NDIS sector and work with mainstream services to ensure best practice.

About The role:

  • Providing a consultative approach, training and support to key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes for the program;
  • Development and delivery of community development and sector practice development through stakeholder engagement, education and trainnig to build capacity in the sector;
  • Developing and delivering subject matter expertise
  • Presenting at community development events, conferences, as well as facilitate workshops, webinars, face-to-face training across the state;
  • Developing toolkits and resources for Support Coordination
  • Supporting the development of and/or continuation of Support Coordination networks and communities of practice;
  • Working with other ESCN providers to ensure learnings are shared and strategies are evaluated;
  • Following Mercy and NDIS policies and procedures when conducting after-hours crisis response referrals;

About You:

  • Tertiary degree in Allied Health, Community or Disability Services and extensive experience
  • Highly demonstrable knowledgeable of the NDIS.
  • Extensive knowledge of Support Coordination and/or NDIS, particularly support people with complex needs
  • Experience and commitment to working in partnership with multiple agencies, support systems, and people with disabilities who have exceptionally complex support needs
  • Strong understanding of the mainstream services (health, justice, education and mental health) and the interaction between NDIS and QLD Government Bodies
  • Experience in delivering training, presenting at conferences and community events; and delivering subject matter expertise activities face-to-face, via skype and online webinars
